Allium rosenbachianum has 5" balls of violet, star-shaped flowers on tall stems in early summer. The flowers attract butterflies and beneficial insects. Allium rosenbachianum is a rare species. The long-stemmed flowers are nice for cutting. It makes a good companion plant for roses and a variety of perennials.
Also known and Rosenbach Allium. Deer resistant. Self sows. Hardy perennial in zones 5-9.
